Anastasia Tanner - Yellow Tulip
I took this photo at the wooden shoe tulip festive with my family.
Michelle Swanson - Pixie Dust
Only the daughter of a photographer gets to spend her Friday night, covered in flour; jumping, spinning, and leaping in front a camera and a couple of speed lights.
Joseph Hernandez - Real Music
This is a shot of NF at Portland’s Roseland Theater. It’s about a 1500 cap venue with a balcony, and I was told ahead of time this was a Front of House show with no pit access. I rented a Sigma 120-300mm for the show, and ran back and forth along the balcony grabbing shots all night with that monstrous lens around my neck. A crazy experience and show, but got some of my favorite shots that night.
Kevin Klein - Skyward Steps
Image of one of the newly finished downtown Portland apartments. What caught my eye was the beautiful contrast between the red and orange balconies against the blue sky.
Lane Rollins - Blossoms #2 (Drink in Pink)
After the group outing I went back to the cherry blossoms a couple of times. I was trying to make an image that included the blossoms as a supporting element but not as the focal point. I really liked the drinking fountain during our outing, so returned to it and took a lower angle image and positioned myself to hide the bike rack on the other side. One of the things I like about in this photo is how the shallow depth of field gives the majority of the photo more of a feel of a painting.
Liz Voelker - Inner World
Flowers draw me in with their magic and beauty. They are mysterious and sensual and decadent. This tulip seems to glow from within, inviting the viewer to look a little closer, to pause, to dwell in a private moment.
Minhaz Sarker - Don't Forget Me
During this season, hundreds of thousands of people make their way to the BEAUTIFUL Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm and take vast numbers of photos of the beautiful flowers, sunrises/sunsets, and other great props and scenes. Unfortunately, any flowers that fall to the ground are forgotten about or worse, trampled over. On one such evening, I found a single fallen tulip and felt a strong desire to give it the spotlight. In my mind, the lonely tulip is looking up at us simply uttering the words - "Don't Forget Me".
Patrick Smith - Ebony in Gold
Image of Natasha Green lit by fireplace and natural reflected light.
Shawn Kim - Trees, but pink
Some trees, but pink.
Stone Johnsen - Emergence
A beautiful slowly setting sun emerging through the cherry blossoms on Portland's East Waterfront.
Shannon Butler - Tip Top Pink
An experiment with distortion and repetition.
Tommy Spencer - Rodies On The GM
I didn't want to make a photo of pretty flowers in Spring. It's just not who I am, so I shot a photo of fallen flowers (starting to die and rot) on the hood of my neighbor's car that is not a flattering color of yellow but is a rad car none-the-less!
