Challenge #07

Cliché: a phrase, idea or piece of art that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought.

A cliché or cliche (/ˈkliːʃeɪ/ or /klɪˈʃeɪ/) is an expression, idea, or element of an artistic work which has become overused to the point of losing its original meaning or effect, even to the point of being trite or irritating, especially when at some earlier time it was considered meaningful or novel. (Wikipedia)

WHY?

To explore them head on. To embrace them in a renewed light.

SO WHAT’S THE CHALLENGE?

Chose any over-used photo cliché, such as .... selfies, nudes, flowers, selective color, food photos... etc and go 1 of 2 directions with it.

  1. Rediscover the photo theme which is generally viewed as cliché. Make it unique again. Create art.

  2. Go with the photo theme exposing it as a cliché. This could be with the use of satire. Check out this video for some ideas on satire.

Make sure you are purposely aiming at #1 or #2; otherwise it is still just a cliché.  :-p

Satire: the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize ... “photo clichés”.

Your imagination is the limit PCPDX. Use it or Lose IT.
